At Capture a Moment Photography, senior photo sessions are some of our favorites! And that’s even more true when the graduating senior is not only a client, but a friend.
We had a great time helping Abi get ready for her upcoming graduation next year with a senior photoshoot. Jen has known Abi for many years, and Abi also happens to be good friends with Jen’s daughter, Shelby (also a graduating senior in 2023). Abi had some great ideas for what she wanted to capture with her pictures.
Highlighting sports or other extracurricular activities is a great way to show off some of your skills and interests in your high school photos. Abi is in the Colorguard with the LCHS Marching Lancers in the summer and fall, and she’s also a member of the Winterguard in the winter months. We made sure to get some photos that would showcase that, as well as some more casual portraits outside the high school.
Of course, your graduation photos don’t need to be all about school! They’re all about you—and that means you can absolutely bring in the personal side of things. Abi got to pose with her dad’s corvette at his fire station (and you can bet we took the opportunity to incorporate some of that awesome firefighter gear too!) We also visited Weirdsville Records, one of the many fun and unique shops in downtown Mount Clemens.
And we love incorporating a little of the unexpected in our photoshoots! The combination of open field and pink throne chair made our session extra fun. There’s nothing like the element of surprise, and unusual combinations like these make for great photos.
