Our senior photo sessions are in full swing and we are loving every minute spent with these inspiring young people. This year has been extra special for us! We recently did a senior session for our very own Jonathan (Angela’s oldest son) and are now so excited to share the photos from this shoot with Shelby, Jen’s youngest biological daughter.
This was Shelby’s first round of requested senior photos. With a photographer mom, she’s lucky enough to be able to do a couple! (Stay tuned for her next round of photos—next time featuring her 57 Ford Fairlane.)
This time, we focused on her love of music with a visit to Third Man Records in Detroit (Cass Corridor). Shelby is a drum major and is on the Homecoming Court. And, in addition to being a drum major for the Marching Lancers, Shelby also plays flute, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, guitar, French horn, and ukulele. She is in Jazz Band, Symphony Band, and Wind Symphony…not to mention filling in when needed in Freshman Band. Are we surprised that she hopes to pursue music education after high school? No. No, we are not.
We also found a fun backdrop for some of Shelby’s senior photos at Karl’s, a diner/bar in Detroit. Chef Kate was nice enough to let us use the place for an hour so we could get some classy, retro-style portraits of our soon-to-be graduate. We loved creating a vibe that was all Shelby’s own for her senior pictures.
Congratulations, Shelby! So proud of you!
