Harris Family at George George Park

June 28, 2013

We enjoyed a beautiful morning with the Harris Family at George George Park this past weekend.  This family had 3 beautiful children and all were dressed perfectly in their coordinating dark blue outfits.  I loved the color coordination on this family, it was done absolutely right.  It worked well with the gorgeous backgrounds and the kids were all happy and comfortable in their clothes that mom had carefully selected.  Way to go Mom!

We had originally planned on meeting this family at VanHoosen Farms until their photography policy had changed.  The shoot was then moved to George George Park in an effort to provide the family with an outside atmosphere that wasn’t too rustic but still had plenty of options for scenery.  This one fit the bill perfectly.

The youngest is just about 18 months old and as any one that has an 18 month knows, they don’t particularly take orders from anyone, not even me!  Go Figure!  He did a great job though and loved, just loved when I had to sneeze.  Fortunately for him, I had a LOT of sneezes stored up!  *wink wink*  Next up was the little 3 year old and well, he loved the quacking.  Good thing there is a couple drinking fountains available.  Between the sneezing and quacking, my throat was rather dry. Last but not least was the 5 year old little girl with her pretty dress, beautiful white bow and gorgeous eyes.  All the kids were great and lasted easily over an hour!  That doesn’t happen too often with such a young family.

The day was overcast but that was actually perfect. If you are ever looking to plan a session and you think only the sunny days are the best, this is a great example of how a cloudy sky can work in your favor.  There is no squinting.  There is no battling with the shadows of leaves and bright spots from the sun.  You don’t sweat while walking to the back of the park. The over cast sky is actually quite perfect.  So don’t be afraid and cancel your shoot, you will be surprised at just how perfect it can turn out when the sun isn’t shining.

Thank you to the Harris Family for braving the cloudy day and the damp ground.  Thank you for trusting us on this choice of a park.  Thank you for trusting us to capture your special moments with your young family.  We look forward to seeing you again soon!
