If your child is approaching the exciting milestone of high school graduation, you’re probably wondering when is the best time to do senior photos. At Capture a Moment Photography, we love to do most of the shoot outdoors, in places your senior likes and feels comfortable. Prime time for outdoor senior portraits is—right now!
Our Favorite Time for Senior Portraits: Late Spring and Early Summer
The late spring/early summer before your child’s senior year is the best time to get those graduation pictures. The weather is cooperating with great temperatures and sunshine, all our favorite outdoor areas are easily accessible, and the natural backdrop of new greenery can’t be beat.
Another Great Time for Senior Portraits: Fall
Another option is to do your senior photoshoot in the fall of senior year (so if your child is graduating this year, don’t panic—you’ve still got time!) Autumn also tends to have nice weather, and of course the fall foliage can add a nice pop of color.
Book Your Senior Photoshoot
As you’re planning when to do your senior photos, remember that it’s never too early to reach out to your photographer. Photography schedules fill up quickly—especially for things like graduation portraits, since a lot of people need those services at the same time. So it’s important that you get on the calendar nice and early. Your photographer can also give you an idea of editing time so you can make sure you’ll have those senior pictures back in time to create graduation announcements and/or gifts for family.
If you have questions or are ready to book your senior photography session, please get in touch! And don’t forget to check out our portfolio.
