Leon Family at George George Park

June 27, 2013

We had a great time with the Leon Family at George George Park this past weekend.  Often we are blessed with very decisive weather.  We either know that it is going to be just fine weather for photos or absolutely not and we typically call it the day of the shoot and plan accordingly as listed under our policies section.  Sometimes sooner and in this case, we waited until the last minute!

We thought we had busy lives with our 6 kids between Jen and I.  This family is clearly entrenched in those years where someone has something going on all the time and to fit one more thing into the schedule is nearly impossible.  We have had a heck of a time getting a date to work out and we had finally found one that worked for us and them, albeit it was at 7:30pm on a Saturday.  Actually, that is the time Jen and I prefer to photograph for many reasons.  The weather is cooler, the sun typically has the sunset glowing illuminating the sky and the kids tend to enjoy walking the park a little bit more.  Unfortunately, it looked as though the weather wasn’t going to cooperate.  We saw rain, we watched the doppler (I have an app right on my phone), we took pictures of a big dark sky taking over the area.  We thought for sure this would end up being a last minute cancel. Then we all met at the park.  The kids hopped out of the car and we met a beautiful and happy family, eagerly hoping to get their photographs taken.  So we went with it and thought, what the heck, lets do this!

We took the family to the back of the park, to the super cool big black bridge, and started there.  We didn’t want to miss the opportunity to photograph on the bridge since we didn’t know what the weather held in store for us.  We had a nice walk to the back and had a chance to get to know the boys a little better as well as mom and dad.  It was pleasant, peaceful, and the weather was truly perfect.  We had a great time and I believe the photos turned out beautifully despite the weather leading up to our evening.  We are happy with them and hope this family is as well!  Thanks for taking the time to work it all out and find a moment to share with us!
